Hello All,

First, thank you for taking the time to read about this tragic incident.  

On December 31st at 10pm, what was supposed to be a Happy New Year turned into our Nightmare! 

My grandfathers room (where he was paralyzed and bed ridden from a stroke not long ago) caught fire due to an electrical issue. He was in his bed sleeping when my aunt and grandmother heard the alarms and ran into his room where they seen flames throughout his entire room, & my aunt Andrea made a very HEROIC decision and ran in to drag her father out.. literally a hero. My aunt was burned 50% of her body and it was all the upper half. She suffered severe burns to her Face, Arms, neck, hands, ears, back, torso and alot of her hair was burned off. She was immediately placed on life support when she got to the hospital. She had to wait for almost 24 hours to be flown to a burn center in West Hills because of the storms Lancaster was having. Once she was able to be airlifted, she made it and underwent surgery. She has remained strong but we know her life will never be the same. She has many surgeries up ahead but her family is trusting in her strength. She is still sedated and on a ventilator..Her family is asking for help to keep up her household, animal needs and bills while she is unable too for months while she is in the hospital.

Andreas unbelievable selfless act allowed our family the chance to say their final goodbyes to our grandfather (her dad). He was burned 41% of his body and was airlifted as well but on January 9th morning, he succumbed to his injuries. Andrea is going to be absolutely heartbroken when she learns this.. we are hoping to take a little stress off her and replace what things she lost that we can. My grandmother is now homeless and she also was burned on her left leg but is hanging in there. This was all around one of the worse things a family could face.
