On Sunday, August 29, the Jeffery family was enjoying their evening with family and friends when an unimaginable accident occurred. While friends were loving on Summer and Nathan’s newest addition of the family, the 9-month-old baby, Wren, was accidentally dropped. The night ended abruptly with a trip to the ER where further exams showed a fractured femur. Since then, the Jeffery’s have met with a doctor in pediatric orthopedics who has devised a plan of care involving a sling or full body cast requiring constant supervision unable to be provided by daycare. Because of this, Nathan will need to take a leave of absence from work. Right now Wren is in a sling for her femur bone to heal but may need to be put in a full cast. Chest down to legs if there are no signs of healing with the sling. And that would mean Nathan would have to take off 2 months of work and not just 1 month.

Although everyone is extremely thankful the accident is not anything worse than it is, it’s still a horrible incident that will take a toll on the Jeffery’s finances in the coming months while Wren recovers.
