Our dear friend Thierno Boubacar has been detained by ICE because of a motorcycle ticket he received. Thierno is a kind, humble, and hardworking man who has been living in the U.S. for the past two years and has a pending asylum case. He came here seeking safety and a better future, and in that short time, he’s built strong friendships and become part of a supportive community that cares deeply for him. What should have been a minor traffic issue turned into a nightmare when he was taken into ICE custody, torn away from his daily life and from the people who love him. Now he faces the terrifying possibility of deportation, despite having followed the legal process and awaiting his asylum decision. Thierno has touched so many lives with his warmth, generosity, and quiet strength, and we are heartbroken to see him treated this way. We are raising funds to help cover legal fees, bond, and support while he fights to stay in the place he now calls home.
