Thet Aung Oo (Alex) is my fiancé’s employee and a dear friend. Today, tragedy struck when Alex and his family’s home burned down, leaving them with nothing. The house is completely gone, and the loss is unimaginable.

In the chaos, Alex suffered severe burns over most of his body and is now in the ICU fighting for his life. He is currently on a breathing tube to protect his airway, and the doctors are closely monitoring him during these critical days. Alex was injured after bravely going back inside the burning home to try to save his mother, believing she was still inside. That selfless act reflects the kind, courageous person he is.

Now, Alex’s family is left without a home, and the medical expenses ahead are overwhelming. The funds raised through this fundraiser will go toward Alex’s extensive medical care, including ICU treatment, surgeries, medications, rehabilitation, and long-term recovery needs. Funds may also help support his family with temporary housing and essential living expenses while they remain by his side and begin to rebuild their lives.
