Smudge & Alfie’s Story

We have welcomed Alfie & Smudge into our care after their beloved owner sadly passed away on Boxing Day. These two senior cats (15 years old) were left alone in their home while their owner was in the hospital for a long time before passing away. A kind neighbor had been feeding them, but they had no real love, comfort, or care and were at risk of being thrown onto the streets.

The family handling the estate in Leeds didn’t even know their names and told us they were around 7 years old. However, once they arrived, it became clear they were much older and in poor condition, having not seen a vet in over 10 years they are desperate for treatment.

Smudge was terrified, hissing and running in fear, with the saddest eyes we’ve ever seen. She’s finally started to settle now. She also needs bloods and has severe dental issues and walks strangely, which may require X-rays & treatment.

Alfie is a gentle giant who has finally started to relax, but his fur was severely matted and needed to be shaved. He also needs bloods and a full dental.

Full blood panels & dentals are needed to assess their health and relieve any pain they may be in.

Vet Quote: Over £1,500 for blood tests & dentals for them both.
