Help These Cats Stop Suffering - Support Our Dental Fund

Donation protected
Many of the rescue cats CDPA takes in suffer from dental issues, which can cause pain, infection, and difficulty eating. Sadly, untreated dental problems can severely impact their overall health. But with your help, we can provide these cats with the dental care they desperately need to live happy and healthy lives.

Recently CDPA has had to cover the costs of extensive dental procedures for 5 rescued cats.
These dental procedures involved multiple extractions, cleaning, pain medication, and antibiotics for each cat, costing just over €1,100 for the charity.

Your donation will help:

  • Kiss was part of a managed colony in D1 and is about 7 years old. He is being socialised by one of our volunteers and will be up for adoption soon. He has already received dental care, and as part of his treatment, all his fur was shaved off. He was badly matted and had a lot of fecal and urine scalding on his hind legs, so he was given a full shave to help with this.

  • Jimmy was part of another colony from D1 as well. Although he looks like an older cat, his age is unknown. We estimate he is older than 8 years. Jimmy has not been eating dry food for the past few weeks and he patiently waited for his dental appointment, which was last 3rd of April. He went to a foster home as a solo cat after his veterinary appointment, since Jimmy is infected with calicivirus and cannot live among other cats.

  • Fred is a long-term foster of one of our volunteers. He was rescued last year from a garage in D12 to be TNRed. He wasn’t released back because he was facing some ingrown nails and ended up having all his nails removed. The vet advised that his nails will need follow-up care from time to time. He is a bit frightened, but in the right environment, with patience and love, he can become a lovely pet. Fred started showing dental issues in the last few weeks too and also had his dental appointment last 3rd of April, along with some additional nail removal. He is fully recovered now and eating wet and dry food again.

  • Tom was already neutered when rescued from Enfield Co. Meath earlier this year. He has become friendly over the years, and his feeder decided he deserved a comfy and safe home. He is between 6-8 years old and has been happy in foster care ever since. His teeth were badly damaged due to his age, and the veterinarian advised his fosterer that he needed dental treatment, which was carried out last February.

  • Sage was rescued earlier this year. He is a friendly, mature boy who had been hanging around Cork St, D8, since last summer. His feeder tried to find his owners without success and then decided to step in and contact CDPA to get him neutered. After being neutered, he went into foster care and is living his best days while waiting to be adopted. During his vaccination process, one of CDPA’s vets advised that he would need dental care soon due to gingivitis and some decayed teeth.
