As some of you know our mom, Theresa underwent a valve replacement and double heart bypass surgery on 8/6/25 at Health Park Medical in Fort Myers, FL. Surgery went really well. She was moving around the very next day, sitting up and holding her heart pillow, making great progress.

On Friday afternoon, Our dad called with horrific news that her health had taken a turn. The trauma from her surgery caused ARDS Respiratory Disease, which caused both lungs to collapse, and she was immediately put on a ventilator. After the doctors assessed my mom more, it was necessary to also put her on ECMO to help, as the ventilator wasn't helping alone, and she was ultimately put on life support. The medical team in Fort Myers felt it was necessary and beneficial for our mom to be transferred to Tampa General Hospital in Tampa. She was transported by ambulance on Saturday (8/9/25) to Tampa General.

Upon her arrival there, she underwent a CT overnight on Monday, and we learned Tuesday that at some point between Friday and Monday evening, she suffered a large stroke.

We are asking for everyone to send prayers and keep our family close to the heart. Our mom is the most selfless person, If you are able to help with a monetary donation, it will assist my dad and siblings as we are currently in Tampa with Mom, hours away from our own home and jobs.
