My name is Theresa James. On January 24, 2026, a gas explosion and fire in my apartment building left my family and me suddenly displaced. Since that day, we have had no indication of when we will be able to return to our home. My family includes three beloved pets, and we were only allowed to quickly gather our pets and necessary medications before leaving. We have no access to our clothing or any personal belongings. As a result, we have been wearing the same clothes for days, and our pets are understandably distressed by the upheaval. This has been an overwhelming and heartbreaking experience for all of us.
Right now, we are seeking help with temporary housing, food, and clothing as we work to get back on our feet. We are also doing our best to provide our pets with food and a safe, comfortable living environment. Financial assistance will help cover our basic daily needs and give us the stability we need to get by during this time. My heart also goes out to all the other families who are facing this same situation.
If anyone is able to help us in any way—whether through clothing, pet supplies, temporary housing, or other support—it would be deeply and sincerely appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your kindness, compassion, and support during this difficult time. Sincerely, Theresa James.
