Hello, I’m Peggy, reaching out with hope and gratitude to support my beloved sister Theresa’s family.
For years, Theresa dedicated her life to her family and community. After leaving her full-time job as a buyer in the shoe industry, she embraced motherhood wholeheartedly, becoming a pillar of support in her children’s education and extracurricular activities. Even during her cancer treatments, she remained an active and cherished member of our community. You would often see her at PTA meetings and fundraisers as well as all of her kids’ sports events and dance competitions.
Diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in 2014, Theresa fought courageously for a decade. Unfortunately, her condition has progressed to stage 4, with the cancer spreading to her lungs and brain. Since late October 2023, doctors have recommended focusing on comfort care and pain management.
Theresa’s family, including her two teenage children, her devoted husband, and her supportive mother-in-law, have been her rock. Opting against hospice care, they chosen to care for Theresa at home, ensuring she was surrounded by love and familiarity in these challenging times.
However, this journey has not been without its hardships. Theresa was weakened by chemotherapy, experienced many falls and severe bruising. Chemo made her limbs numb, and she lost her strength to be mobile.
Theresa passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024 in her residence. We thank you for your generosity and support these past few months.
Although she is gone, her family continues to need our support as my brother-in-law may not be able to go back to work for a few months, and the kids needing therapy. Any help is appreciated.
In an effort to maximize your impact and minimize fees, we kindly request that donations be made directly via Zelle or Venmo. Please message me for my brother-in-law Howard’s transfer details. Every contribution, big or small, will help Theresa’s family immensely during this challenging time.
Thank you for your support and for being a part of Theresa’s journey of courage and love.
