Help Theresa Get New Teeth

Meet Theresa. She commutes nearly 2 hours on public transportation -each way- to clean people's homes in Mexico City. She's a mother and is now in charge of raising her young grandchildren in conditions most of us couldn't fathom. 

We have known Theresa since 2019 when she started to clean our house once a week. She has opened up to us about her life, which has been marred with terrible circumstances and acts of violence committed against her. Her perseverance to keep going is remarkable.

Theresa has mentioned on multiple occasions that she's embarrassed about her teeth. She has a difficult time eating food that isn't soft, often preferring bread, which complicates her diabetes. She has told us she's saving up to fix her teeth and we have given her a raise thinking it would help. However she needs extensive work and she has other needs that are considered more important, including her grandchildren which are her responsibility. 

Although she sometimes tries to joke about herself, she has also said she knows she gets treated differently because of her smile. We want to help change that for her. We want her to see herself differently and we want her to be able to eat nutritious food. 

Theresa doesn't know it, but we are raising money to cover her dental costs and hopefully there's some money leftover to help her situation further. We need to get her into a dentist for a consultation to see their suggestion and figure out whether she needs dentures or implants. I've gotten estimates that dentures are under $3,000, but implants are more than double. She needs an experienced dentist that gives her quality treatment that will last. 

Theresa is such a caring and considerate woman, and I feel so incredibly humbled and honored to play a role in helping her be able to afford to smile and eat again.
