We are Costin and Simona, loving parents and steadfast advocates from the heart of Romania, blessed with two extraordinary children: Theoris, a 2-year-old girl whose smile can light up the darkest rooms, and Yustin, a 4-year-old boy overflowing with energy and curiosity. Our world, once filled with the simple, everyday joys of family life, took an unexpected and heart-wrenching turn when Theoris, at the tender age of just one year and four months, was diagnosed with a rare and severe form of cancer – B-type acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
The Journey So Far
Theoris's battle with leukemia has been a journey marked by intense emotional turmoil and formidable challenges. After being classified as a High-Risk patient following her diagnosis at just 1 year and 4 months, we were thrust into an urgent and rigorous treatment regimen. This plan, tailored for High-Risk patients, initially involved an aggressive course of chemotherapy and immunotherapy aimed at curbing the rapid progression of her disease.
However, the journey took a dramatic and unexpected turn when, during the third phase of treatment, Theoris's condition relapsed. In response to this critical development, the medical team made the difficult decision to abruptly halt the ongoing treatment. This sudden cessation of the treatment regimen underscored the grave danger posed by the disease's resilience and the urgent need for an alternative approach.
Faced with this dire situation, the doctors recommended pivoting to a different strategy, incorporating a new combination of immunotherapy and chemotherapy. This revised approach was not only a response to the relapse but also a preparatory measure for the impending necessity of a bone marrow transplant.
In these moments of uncertainty, we placed our trust and hopes in the hands of God, seeking His guidance and miracles more fervently than ever. We pray daily, drawing strength from the collective goodwill and faith that binds us as a community of believers. We stand united in our desire for Theoris to regain her health and to live the life of a normal child. Embracing the path by divine will, we accepted the transplant as the necessary course of action for Theoris's recovery.
The Current Challenge
The transplant, a beacon of hope, has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in Theoris's fight against leukemia. However, the journey is far from over. We now face the daunting task of supporting Theoris through her recovery. This critical period requires us to stay in Italy for at least a year. Living close to the hospital is imperative for her ongoing care, especially in a tourist-heavy area where the cost of living is significantly higher.

Our family faces the immense challenge of covering living expenses in Italy, including the high cost of rent, medical follow-ups, and the unforeseen expenses that come with post-transplant care.
