Help Theo Recover from Emergency Surgery

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with an update and a continued plea for help for our sweet dog, Theo.

Theo is a 3-year-old poodle/golden retriever mix who suddenly became very sick—lethargic, vomiting, and unable to keep anything down. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they suspected a blockage. He was admitted and put on fluids while we waited for more answers.

On June 25, Theo underwent emergency surgery. The vet discovered significant bruising and damage to his intestines due to the foreign body. Although we hoped he’d come home the next day, Theo still couldn’t keep anything down and continues to vomit roughly every 15 minutes. He hasn’t been able to eat, and his condition remains serious.

Yesterday, we visited him at the hospital to see if our presence might lift his spirits. He was clearly comforted, but still struggling. The vet now recommends placing a tube to remove excess fluid from his intestines to help relieve pressure and support his recovery.

We’re doing everything we can to fight for Theo. So far, my family has maxed out what we could pull together through Care Credit, generous donations, and emergency funds, but we still need help covering the cost of his medical bills which now include the extended stay, the new treatment, and the care he needs in the coming days. The vet is hopeful that with time and treatment, Theo can recover—but we can’t do it without support.
