Theo, my indoor cat, is more than just a pet—he’s family. On Tuesday night, Theo accidentally slipped out of the house and got lost. We searched everywhere, made “lost cat” signs, and posted to several Facebook groups. On Thursday evening, we finally found Theo huddling under a neighbor’s shed. He was muddy, stiff, and exhausted. Because Theo is diabetic, missing his regular meals and insulin for two days was especially dangerous. I brought him to the vet, where they confirmed he was dehydrated and had high electrolytes and blood glucose. He was hospitalized so they could administer IV fluids and potassium, and thankfully, he stabilized enough to come home. Now, Theo needs a continuous glucose monitor, supervised feeding, and ongoing insulin and medication management to stimulate his appetite and prevent nausea. This misadventure has resulted in significant veterinary care and medicine expenses, and we’re committed to keeping Theo healthy and safe. This was an unexpected hardship, and we’re reaching out for help. Your support will cover the medical costs already incurred and help with future medication management. Every donation, share, and kind word means the world to us and to Theo. Thank you for listening to Theo’s story and following his journey to wellness!
