Theo is my sweet, loving poodle/Dachshund mix who has been my service animal since I rescued him at around four years old. He quickly became my lifeline for managing severe anxiety, especially as I navigate a high-stress, high-stakes job where I give everything to help others. Theo has an incredible intuition—when I’m panicking, he’ll gently command me to get on the ground and sit on top of me, or lay across my chest if I’m already down. His presence brings me comfort and stability every day, and he’s brought so much joy to everyone who meets him.
On Friday, I came home to find Theo unable to move and struggling to breathe. The emergency vet discovered dangerously high liver enzymes, low platelets, fluid around his organs, and severe pain that left him unable to use his back legs. He’s been on a ketamine drip and has needed constant care, including X-rays, an MRI, more labs, and likely surgery once the cause of his pain is clear. Despite treatment for possible anaphylactic shock, his condition remains complex and critical. I’ve already spent thousands trying to save his life, because Theo saves mine every day.
These funds will help me continue Theo’s treatment and hopefully bring him home where he belongs. Your support will ease the financial burden and allow me to focus on his recovery, so Theo can keep being the incredible companion and service animal I rely on. Thank you for helping us through this difficult time.
