Hi, my name is Kaya.

Theo is one of the sweetest, kindest, most gentle little boys I have ever met. He has been diagnosed with Dyskeratosis Congenita, Hoyeraal Hreidarsson Syndrome with a DKC1 mutation, a rare and life limiting condition. He is now receiving care focused on quality of life rather than quantity of life.

I met Alyssa and Theo back in 2022, when my own husband was dying from terminal brain cancer.

Our boys were both just two years old at the time. That’s how far back this connection goes. That’s why this hurts so deeply.

That is something no child should ever face.

Theo should be thinking about play, laughter, and little adventures, not hospital visits and treatment plans and bone marrow transplants. Yet through it all, he remains such a beautiful, innocent and happy soul.

His mum, Alyssa, has shown strength that most of us couldn’t even begin to imagine. She shows up every single day for each of her children, especially for Theo, carrying the emotional and physical weight of this journey with love, care and resilience.

Alyssa met an incredible man who stepped into their lives wholeheartedly. He brought light into a time filled with uncertainty. They got engaged in 2026 and are hoping to marry in June, while Theo is still well enough to be there. This isn’t about a big wedding. It’s about Theo seeing his mumma happy. It’s about creating memories while they still can.

I’m asking for any contribution, no matter how small, to help ease the financial strain on this family, to support bringing their wedding forward and most importantly to give Theo the most comfort, joy, and special moments possible in his remaining time.

The funds will be used to create memories for Theo and help alleviate the financial burden and strain his family have to go through.
