Theo is 25 years old and was born with cerebral palsy. If you’ve ever met him, you’ll know he’s one of the kindest, funniest, most generous and hard-working people you could hope to meet. Despite living in constant pain, Theo approaches life with compassion, humour, and determination.
One of the biggest things that gives Theo freedom, independence, and joy is his wheelchair. It’s more than just a chair - it’s his lifeline. His current chair (“Nigel,” as he affectionately calls it) has been with him for almost six years, but it’s now worn out and needs to retire. A new chair, built specifically for Theo’s body and needs, would allow him to continue working on his physical health (which has a huge positive impact on his mental wellbeing), keep up his independence, and do the things he loves — from everyday tasks to taking on fitness challenges.
But the cost is daunting: upwards of £6,000, far beyond what Theo can afford.
To help raise the funds, Theo is taking on incredible challenges — including a 10k this October and the Edinburgh half-marathon next year. Both are fully wheelchair accessible, and Nigel will be by his side for every training session until they reach the finish line together.
We want to make sure that after those finish lines, Theo has the wheelchair he needs to live his best life. Every donation, no matter the size, brings him closer to that goal.
Thank you for supporting Theo. Your kindness will make a real difference in his everyday life.
