Hi there, my name is Matheo Leuterio. I am an aspiring artist that has been accepted to Otis College of Art and Design, my dream school. While this is one of the best things that I can strive for, it is ultimately difficult for my family to afford it. I come from a low/single-income household. I picked up a part-time job to start saving for college, but my work hours have been cut completely because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. I am here not to ask for your pity, but rather your support and assistance in helping fund my dream education during these hard times. One year of tuition at Otis College of Art and Design is $46,500. With additional fees, housing, and meal plans, the total cost comes to over $66,000. Financial Aid and Scholarships will cover approximately $21,000. I am asking for your support in helping me raise $45,000 to supplement my tuition and education costs.
"It takes a village to raise a child" -African proverb. I have been fortunate enough to have a village filled with loving and supportive people who have helped my parents raise me to be the man I am today. Unfortunately, my family hasn’t always been blessed financially and we have lived paycheck-to-paycheck my whole life. The one splurge my parents could afford every once in a while was an action figure or small Lego set from Toys R’ Us. These small gifts from my parents brought me joy throughout my childhood & still does to this day. Toys R’ Us was my Disneyland. I remember reverse engineering my toys as a young boy - little did I know, I was actually laying down the foundation for a lifelong passion with hopes of living out a lifelong career as a Toy Designer.
Since I was a child, my mother instilled in me the importance of education & the power of knowledge. That gave me the drive I needed to graduate from high school in 2018, and to further obtain two AA degrees in the following year. Despite the fact that I went to a school that was focused on academics rather than arts, I never let go of my dreams to become a Toy Designer. Getting accepted to my dream school, OTIS College of Art and Design is the next step to successfully achieving my life long dream.
