Is it too much to ask to have a place to lay your head - a bed and a mattress where you can sleep the night in comfort? Is it too much to expect to sleep uninterrupted by disease carrying mosquitoes? Please help the precious children of Future Generation Primary and Nursery School to have these basic comforts.
$95au will buy a double bunk bed and could sleep 4-6 children.
$6 will buy a life saving mosquito net
Any extre money raised will go toward bedding (sheets and blankets).
Future Generation Nursery and Primary School is situated about 30 minutes out of Kabale, Uganda. It comprises of 159 children, of which, 68 board in the dormitories all year round. These children do so for various reasons. Some are orphans who have been taken from the street and given a second chance, some live in such abject poverty that attending the school not only means an education but very often means survival. Others live in remote villages and without the chance to stay in the school dormitories, would never have the chance to be in a school at all.
There are so many obstacles facing these kids, but their thirst for knowledge is such that nothing will stop them fighting for the education they deserve....and nothing takes the smile off their faces. They are amazing little people who quickly make their way into your heart the moment you meet them.
It's often hard to fathom that life's most basic comforts, the things we just takefor granted, are not enjoyed by others...but by reaching out, we can make sure these kids sleep well, without fear of becoming ill from malaria.
We wish to help by getting 10 sets of bunk beds which could potentially sleep 40 kids. In addition, we need to provide mosquito nets for all 68 boarders. Malaria is a very serious concern in Uganda and while there, we witnessed this first hand. One student fell ill very quickly. A life saving dash to a local medical clinic saw him recieve the treatment he needed and thankfully he made a quick recovery, but he was a very sick boy and without this immediate treatment it could have been a very different outcome. In Africa, Malaria is a terrifying disease that can take lives.
Please help us to reach our goal. Please share our campaign with your friends and let's make sure these kids sleep well at night. That's not to much to ask is it?
