July 11, Friday, 10:51am: Jimalyn Ferreras, our dear neighbor and a good friend, was travelling to her work at the hospital when she got rear-ended at the 1000 block of Main Street by a vehicle estimated to be driving 140-160 km/h. She was hit very hard and got crushed into a tree. Jimalyn was quickly treated at the Humboldt hospital but had to be air transported by the STARS helicopter to the RUH emergency. There she stayed overnight for further treatment and testing. Fortunately, she was cleared to be discharged the following day of the accident but continued to be in so much pain, having a full-body trauma and being severely concussed, having memory loss, and needing assistance for daily living. We are home now for a long road for recovery, grateful for the friends and community support from the time of the accident up to now.
They have lived in Humboldt for over ten years, and we found the locals to be among the most kind. We have a reputation for constantly lending a helping hand to one another. Giving or sharing any amount you can during these trying times will assist ease their pain and is already very beneficial to the family.
After being taken out of the GoFundMe account, any sum donated will go straight to Rino Ferreras's bank account.
The family also benefits greatly from your prayers.
