Hello Friends & Community,

My name is Stephanie & I am a friend of Thelma. She has asked me to create this fundraising opportunity.

Some of you may already know that Thelma had a house fire a couple years ago. While struggling with long covid, Thelma had to move out of her family home to live in expensive temporary housing. Construction on her house is fraught and ongoing. It’s been an uphill battle.

As if that wasn’t enough, Thelma recently had a debilitating stroke. She has lost most feeling and ease of movement on her left side. In the past few months, Thelma has been in and out of hospitals and in and out of unsuitable care homes. She is exhausted with trying to advocate for herself within a broken system that continues to bombard her with empty promises, prejudice and racism. It has been anything but easy.

Thelma needs our help to move into & stay in a home where she can get the proper care and respect she deserves. She needs our help to pay for existing care home/medical bills & expenses as well as future ones.

When Thelma was able, she fought for her community and family. She has always believed in community care. She has always looked after everyone and adopted so many as her own. Let’s band together and give this amazing lady some comfort and joy this holiday season. ♥️
