Help Thelma Deodat rebuild her home
Donation protected
My name is Carl (Narine) Deodat and I am writing this on behalf of my sisters, Diana Deodat and Jasmine Deodat.
In the early hours of Wednesday, May 26, 2021 our Mom was abruptly woken up from her sleep to the ringing noise of the fire alarm. She ran downstairs to find our kitchen in flames. In that second she realized she wouldn't be able to make a 911 call. In a state of panic, she ran out the house and to our neighbours for help and thank God she got out when she did.
She has been living in this house since she immigrated to Canada. A single mother of 3 sitting infront of a burning building that she called home watching all of her hard work burn away in a blink of an eye. Our family home. All the memories we made is burning away.
She walked out the house with the clothes on her back and left behind everything she worked so hard for. Our father passed away 9 years ago and left my mom to support herself with three kids, a mortgage and a tough decision of not getting house insurance.
Unfortunately, due to the current covid situation she also lost her job and supporting herself was becoming even more difficult.
We are reaching out to family, friends neighbours, community members and anyone who is willing to help. We are facing one of the hardest times of our lives and we cannot start rebuilding without help. Please donate whatever you can, every little bit helps.
