Thea came to Dana & Steve at the end of June 2025 from a dire situation in which the owner was going to put her down because she was having accidents in the house and eating poo. She was terrified, head shy, and sensitive to loud noises.
Thea is thriving in our home with our fur-kids. Her confidence and true personality are coming out. She is now on high-quality food, and it shows in her energy levels as she is now playful and running in our yard. Potty training is going extremely well with washable diapers that she wears in the house, and she has yet to eat poo.
This is her third home. We were told she was a puppy mill breeder, then was adopted at 5 years old with the prior owner.
We brought Thea to our vet for a full check-up. Her overall health is good, but her teeth are absolutely terrible (I'm a groomer and have seen terrible teeth before) nearly the worst I've seen. Our doctor said she is in pain and needs to have a FULL MOUTH EXTRACTION of her TEETH. Her blood work reflected this with signs of infection. We want to get this taken care of ASAP for her health and comfort. The initial quote for the extractions is $2,600-3,600. We were not prepared to take this on and desperately need your help. The 3-month window for surgery with this blood work expires at the end of Sept. We are scheduled for second opinions and more affordable options that we trust with her.
Thea is a 5.6 lb, 10-year-old Yorkie that deserves to live the rest of her life in comfort. In addition, the vet found two small lumps near her nipples that we have to watch that could lead to a mastectomy. We're hoping it won't. Any extra funds would be applied to her care to help monitor her for any potential issues. We don't have a lot of medical history on her.
Thank you for your consideration. It would still help if you could put this info on your social media.
Good health to you and your family,
Dana and Steve
