Even the Bravest Need Help Sometimes
Life can be incredibly hard, even for those who have always worked tirelessly for others. Thea is one of those brave individuals who has faced every challenge life has thrown her way with strength and resilience. But now, she needs our help to continue her fight.

Meet Thea (from the Philippines): A Brave Single Mother Facing Stage 4 Cancer
Hello, my name is Thea, and I’m a 38-year-old single mother to two wonderful children, Ceth (11) and Diannara Lou (6). My life took a drastic turn in 2021 when I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma breast cancer, which has now metastasized to my bones and lungs, bringing me to Stage 4.

A Story of Strength and Survival
Before my diagnosis, I was living with my kids in a small, rented room, doing my best to provide for them through a modest snack vending business. Each day, I would cook and walk around our city, selling snacks to make enough to get by - earning between 300 to 500 pesos [FYI: 5 to 8 $/€] daily. It wasn’t easy, but it was the only way I knew to ensure my children had what they needed.
Even after my diagnosis, I refused to give up. I shifted to selling snacks online and making frozen treats to support my family. I also reached out to friends on Facebook for help with my treatments. But as the disease progresses, it’s becoming harder to manage everything alone.

Why Thea Needs Your Help Now
Thea is currently in desperate need of funds for ongoing chemotherapy and Zolindronic infusions, which are vital for managing her cancer and protecting her bones. The financial burden of these treatments is overwhelming for her as a single mother with no other source of income.

How You Can Make a Difference for her and her children
We are humbly asking for your support in raising the money to cover the costs of Thea’s chemotherapy, bone treatments, and essential daily expenses like oxygen. Your donation, no matter the size, will help her continue to fight this battle and be there for her children.

A Bit More About her Journey
I come from a very humble background. My parents couldn’t afford to send me to high school, so I started working as a nanny in Manila at the age of 11 to support them. Life hasn’t been easy - my education was cut short, and I’ve faced many hardships along the way. The father of my eldest child, Ceth, passed away in 2016, and I separated from the father of my youngest because he was not able or willing to provide for my children.
Despite these challenges, I’ve always strived to provide a better life for my children. Now, I’m turning to you for help in this most difficult time.

Thank You for Your Support
I am deeply grateful for any assistance you can provide. Your kindness will not only help me in my fight against cancer but will also ensure that my children are cared for during this challenging time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Connect with Thea on Facebook
If you'd like to learn more about Thea's journey and offer her words of encouragement, you can connect with her directly on her Facebook channel . Please note that Tagalog and Bisaya is used in addition to English as she is from the Philippines. Your emotional support means the world to her during this challenging time.

Some additional notes:

  • Thea is not a native English speaker and left school early to support her parents and her children, so there has been slight editing for clarity, but her story and the content have not been changed.
  • I am organizing this gofundme as the Philippines is not in the list of supported countries yet.
  • My dear friend Weng, whom I trust completely, was kind enough to travel to Thea to record a video and assess the situation. You can find her YouTube channel here. Feel free to join her live videos as well, where you can ask questions directly.
  • Ann (Theas aunte - Ann Breakable Vlog) has interviewed Thea before (latest video / older video / first video ).
