Help the Wright family get back in business

I have created this page for a family I hold near and dear to my heart. The Wrights pictured above are one of the millions of families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. I have known this husband and wife duo (Jarvis & Tia) for 17 years now. Over the years they have never failed to amaze me with the love, dedication, morals and values they've stood on. They have always worked extremely hard to provide for their beautiful family of 8.
In this day and age they have been a near perfect family model that myself and many others we know look up to. Through the ups and downs we all experience in life, the Wright's stay driven and humble, rarely complaining or ever asking for assistance from others. Instead they rather focus on what they can do to lend a hand to others, such as their friends, family, and extending all they way to the overall community.
Last March Tia stepped away from her 3rd shift job due to Covid-19 and the fear of bringing this virus back home to her family of 8 specifically one their daughters who is considered high risk due to her asthma. If this wasn't challenging enough they're newest addition was born with a club foot. Throughout this time they would spend many of the months traveling back and fourth from CT to Boston Children's Hospital caring for their son through surgeries, casting and rehab. With Tia not working, this new reality created a different concern of losing one of their incomes so Jarvis suggested that they start making cheesecakes to earn some additional income to help keep them afloat. They had discussed trying this before but time would never permit them to give it a try. For years Tia would make her cheesecakes for family, friends and holidays. Anyone, including myself who had the privilege of tasting one of these cakes would always give amazing compliments, so with Tia not working they decided to give it a try and came up with The Wright Slice of Cheesecake.
From the very beginning, word of The Wright Slice of Cheesecake began spread through word of mouth and over social media. They weren't your typical bakery. They were deeply family and community oriented, black owned and offered over 30 amazing flavors of cheesecake. They used their cakes to help raise money for multiple fundraisers and to bring families and communities together. The Wrights believed in their product from the beginning but was honestly shocked at how quickly their brand grew. Customers constantly would leave feedback such as "hands down the best cheesecake I ever had" "I will never eat cheesecake from anywhere else" or "My husband hates cheesecake but he could not stop eating yours" just to name a few. They surprisingly accomplished all of this in months and knew that they had something special so they began to save up to eventually open up their own spot.
Unfortunately their success was short-lived. In January of 2021, someone filed a compliant with Consumer Protection saying that they were a home-based bakery that were making cheesecakes for sale. They learned according to Consumer Protection, many baked goods can be produced from a home kitchen for sale but not cheesecake. Cheesecake must be made in a commercial kitchen and so with that they have had to halt their high demanded business and income. Their slogan is "Can't go Wrong with The Wright Slice of Cheesecake" I whole heartedly believe this! If there is any family you would want to see win it's the Wrights! I put this page together out of pure love and respect for the Wrights. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will be used to help the Wrights open up their own bakery to continue to provide for their family and serve their community. I know they would not want anyone to offer up their last for them so if you are not in the position to donate please at least share. However, any and all donations are welcomed! Thank you to all of the customers, followers, supporters, family and friends.
