Help the workers of Nana Atelier
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim, and I am fundraising for the workers of Nana Atelier, a garment factory in Boyle Heights. The factory was destroyed in a devastating fire on September 5, 2022, and everything inside was lost. All the equipment, sewing machines, fabric, patterns, samples, furniture- everything was damaged beyond repair.
The Nana team relies on their work at the factory for their livelihood, and now they face an uncertain period as the team works to rebuild what was lost. They are a group of extremely hard-working, loyal, and kind people who treat each other like family.
Alnea is the founder and leader of Toit Volant and Nana Atelier. A core pillar of her business is providing fair wages for her workers, and giving them an environment that they felt comfortable and happy in. Her concern for their welfare is well known within the industry - this LA Times article highlights her support of a liveable wage for garment workers in LA. When the extent of the damage was apparent, Alnea's first concern was for her workers and how she could help take care of them.
This fundraiser aims to provide interim financial support for Nana Atelier workers while the factory is rebuilt. We appreciate all donations- every little bit helps!
We will provide periodic updates on this page as they become available.
Thank you so much ❤️
