Help The Woolen Family

Hello, I am starting this GoFundMe in hopes that I can help relieve the financial burden my brother and his family are now facing due to my brother being taken into ICU and placed on a ventilator from Covid. This is every families worst nightmare during this Pandemic. Blake and his wife Sarah are the most wonderful and kind people you will ever meet and have a beautiful young daughter named Maddie. They have all been sick with Covid for over two weeks now and with my brother being placed in ICU the situation has gotten a lot worse. Sarah and Maddie aren’t able to be with Blake in the hospital and live hours from family so they are isolated and scared.

As we all know the financial burden of being out of work and ontop of needing to pay for medical bills/regular bills/groceries is a scary thing. Not to mention we are right here at Christmas. I’m hoping this will help in some way. Even if you can just share this page it would mean the world to our family to help them.

12/14/21 UPDATE:

As of today we have surpassed our goal of $5,000 to help Blake and Sarah. Our family cannot thank everyone enough for all of the love and support you have shown them. This is a very scary and heartbreaking time for the whole family but we are eternally grateful for your help.

BLAKE UPDATE:

There haven’t been any very significant negative changes since he was admitted. Which is a good thing as far as we are concerned. 

Blake’s vent is operating at 40% and he’s maintaining a decent o2 while on his stomach but it does drop some when on his back.

There has been discussion on transferring Blake to Portland to undergo an ECMO which will help deliver oxygen rich blood so his heart and lungs can heal but we haven’t received anymore discussion on that matter.

A blood clot was found near Blake’s heart which appears to be small and broken up so his team isn’t too concerned and are administering blood thinners as a precaution.

They are trying to ween Blake from blood pressure medication to help his body start working on its own.

Vitals are still up and down without the blood pressure medication.

His heart echo does show weakening of his ventricles with the left side being the worst. 

This is the most information we have as of today.

Please just continue to pray for healing over his body and pray for meticulous work and thought for his medical team.

Please also pray for comfort for Sarah and Maddie during this time.

BLAKE IS AWAKE AND OFF THE VENTILATOR!!!

He is alert, talking, and aware! We will know more as the hours go on to see how his condition is.
