Help The Wood Family Hurricane Relief
On September 1st, 2021 Hurricane Ida passed through Philadelphia and flooded many areas. Unlike typical hurricane flooding, my parents can't leave our house because there is 6 plus feet of water in our 1st floor. We live on the Schuylkill River which is now our entire road. My parents are both elderly and will need help cleaning out our house post-flood (there's still water coming up)
My mother has raised 'backyard chickens' and built and designed a coop for them, all of our chickens have passed away due to the unexpected amount of flooding. This is not a typical yearly flood and we have been hit hard. My mother is heartbroken but can't even focus on our beloved pets.
If you can't donate but still want to help we could take any volunteers to help shovel mud out of our house once the water goes down. I am a college student in Connecticut and I can't return home due to covid restrictions and classes. Anything you can donate is appreciated and will be used to replace damaged items and/or hire clean-up crews.
Thank you for your support
