On November 3rd, Greg was diagnosed with a rare form of soft tissue sarcoma. After multiple trips to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC, he was accepted into a trial that had shown great results. He and Meggan went to NYC on 1/1/24 to complete his pretreatment testing and was set to have his first infusion and procedure on 1/11/24.
During that pretreatment testing, the doctors discovered a 3 inch mass that nearly filled the entirety of his right atrium.
He was immediately admitted to NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital ICU. He underwent open heart surgery on 1/8/24 to remove the mass. The pathologists are examining the mass to determine how much is tumor and how much is a blood clot collected by the tumor. Once he has healed from this surgery and they have the pathology, the doctors will devise a new cancer treatment plan.
This account is being set up to help the family with gas, hotels, food, and medical bills as they endure the daunting path ahead of them.
1/29/24 update: Greg passed away on Friday, 1/26/24, funds will continue to help the family as they prepare for the funeral and medical bills. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
