Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read our story! Our family has extensive medical needs which began with our first child. So, first and foremost, please pray for us, always. Everyone is struggling today. If you can help financially, please do. We remain forever grateful.
Liam is our oldest son. He endures medical appointments and procedures like a champ! He likes to tell his sister that shots are nothing to fuss over. He was born with a congenital heart defect, and he was just two days old when he had his first surgery! Many have followed. He currently has an artificial heart valve which was placed in 2023.
AJ, the middle child, is our leukemia survivor. He was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia B-cell SR on April 9th, 2017. We thought life was rough with his brother's heart issues. Oh boy, cancer treatment for three and a half years really changes you and your family. Chemotherapy caused some bones to grow weird, and he needed two surgeries in 2023 to correct the growth. He is also differently abled with a cognitive disorder.
Abee, our youngest and wildest, won the genetic lottery. 2019 saw a rare genetic disorder (QRICH1), shortly after a clinical diagnosis of neurofibromatosis type 1. Then type 1 diabetes arrived in 2023. Oh, the allergies and eczema are worth a mention too. Rashes of unknown origin are nearly a daily occurrence.
As you can imagine, James (dad) and Tanda (mom) have our own health issues. James doesn't like his being shared, but I can say he carries the burden of our family's difficulties. The stress is heavy, and he refuses to share it. Tanda fell ill in 2022 and became unable to work. Many, many stress-related diagnoses later, she recently underwent bariatric gastric bypass surgery. Hopefully, this surgery will be the needed boost to get healthy.
Lynda is Tanda's mother and Granny to the Winslow children. She has had a hard life, and she is unfortunately facing the consequences. She suffers from being homebound and wheelchair-bound with epilepsy, heart, kidney, and respiratory failure, uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, and more. She had a near-fatal motor vehicle accident in 2010, shortly after AJ was born, with many surgeries for shattered knees and ankles, broken legs, left arm snapped in half, a long ICU stay and rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury. She has been in the hospital and nursing home several times since for various falls and illnesses.
Again, if you made it this far, haha, thank you, truly. Please share so we can reach as many people as possible. Please pray. Please donate, if you are able and feel led to do so.
