Help the Wilsons Move Out of Tennessee

Hi my name is Robert S. Wilson and I'm making this fundraiser to raise money to help my family move out of the state of Tennessee due to new anti-trans laws that affect our family. This year, Tennessee has become literally the worst state in the US when it comes to LGBTQ laws mostly because of several laws that have been been introduced this year that particularly target the rights of transgender folks . Our 20-year-old daughter who lives with us is trans and I am nonbinary (though I haven't officially come out yet) so this deeply affects our family. To make matters even worse, we recently received our new lease that is to be signed by the end of July, 2021 if we're going to stay here and our rent is going up beyond our means, so now we have very little time to move.

Now, we could just move to another place here in Tennessee, but then we have to sign a year lease and stay here for another year and continue to deal with these new laws and we would prefer to avoid that if possible. We first moved to this state in 2006 and have enjoyed living here but frankly, we no longer feel welcome here. Nor do we wish to live our lives surrounded by so much bigotry. There are many good people here in TN but unfortunately, their voices have been drowned out by many hateful folks that share the same space. But we know from experience that moving to another state is extremely expensive and an incredibly difficult and stressful process.

My wife and I run a small publishing company called Nightscape Press which contributes to multiple charities. But it is not a profiting company and it does not pay our bills unfortunately. My wife, Jennifer, works full time but I lost my day job last year due to Covid-19 and have recently struggled to find a new job. Last year I was diagnosed with adult ADHD and I was already suffering from severe anxiety. Honestly, we've had a lot of bad luck this past year. Not as bad as some but worse than a lot of folks. So, with that said, we don't really have much to offer in return for your donations other than maybe a free eBook or a digital copy of my upcoming synthwave/industrial album when it's finished. But you will definitely have our sincere unending gratitude. Any help, whether it be a donation or a share of this fundraiser, would be huge for myself, Jennifer, our daughter Sera, and our five-year-old granddaughter Zoey who also lives with us.
