Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

My name is Patrice and I grew up in Boone NC. I am reaching out on behalf of my good friends Delmus and Dianne Williams who live in Boone and who have endured unimaginable hardship following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene last week. The torrential downpours and flash floods that swept through the North Carolina mountains left a path of total destruction, and sadly, this family’s home was not spared.

In the early hours of the storm, the family found themselves trapped as water surged through their neighborhood, sweeping homes and belongings away. After hours of uncertainty, they were rescued from their home by canoe, but they lost everything in the process. Their house, which had been a place of love and memories, was left in ruins—nearly washed away by the relentless force of the floodwaters.

The storm hit their neighborhood hard, and many homes were completely destroyed. The once peaceful mountain community has suffered a catastrophic event, leaving families like theirs homeless and in desperate need of assistance. They are now facing the daunting task of starting from scratch, with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

I am asking for your support to help this family rebuild their lives. Your generous donations will go directly to helping them secure temporary housing, food, replace essential belongings, and begin the long road to recovery and rebuilding.
