Help the Williams Family After Tragic Loss

My name is Daniel Williams. My son, Richard L Williams, was shot and killed on Wednesday May 7, 2025. Before the shooting, I was notified by EMS, that Richard was out of control and seeing things that were not there. I arrived at his apartment and decided that I would take him to the emergency room. (Richard has been living in this Mental Health/Assited living apartment since he was 17. He was 42 when he passed.) I arrived at the emergency at approximately 6 pm and the medical workers took him back to the ER immediately.

I waited for two hours, and they said he was stable. The nurse said that that would keep him overnight and I could take him home the next morning. Unfortunately, the hospital released him at 1230 AM without notifying me or his mother, which we told the medical team to contact us if he was released of if anything changed. He was released with no phone or no keys to his home. I had them. When Richard was released, he started to walk home. He went to a house that looked like the old one that we used to live in, again, Richard was very mentally unstable at this time. He went to that house looking for me and his mother to get the keys from his home, he was confused and not himself and tried to enter and was shot dead by the occupants of the house. Richard was a kind soul, would never hurt anyone. This is such a sad series of unfortunate events. My son was on Medicaid and has no life insurance. My wife and I live on a fixed income and would like to give our son a proper memorial, but sadly, we are having a hard time finding ways to cover the cost, I am asking, whole heartedly for any kind of help anyone would like to give us at this hard time in our lives.
