Need Whitehouse Library Accessibility Ramp & Deck

Please help us with an urgent need to provide accessibility to Whitehouse Library books and services by replacing the Main Entryway and Accessibility Ramp with an ADA (American Disability Act) compliant design. Any size donation is appreciated!

The Whitehouse Ohio Library is a volunteer operated 501(c)(3) non-profit entity that provides educational and entertainment materials, services, and programs to a wide-ranging area centered in the Village of Whitehouse but also serving the entire Anthony Wayne School District, Neapolis, Monclova-Providence-Swanton Townships, Grand Rapids, and Toledo. We are requesting donations to address the need for a revised deck, stairs, and accessibility ramp in order to provide a new, durable, long-life, ADA compliant entry for our visitors.

It is notable that many of our visitors are citizens for whom we want to provide easier and safer access through the front doorway should they be using a walker, cane, or wheelchair. In addition, the condition of the current wooden deck and ramp is nearing the end of its useful life, having been in place for 17 years since Library inception. The new entryway would be long-life, low-maintenance composite material, and larger to make it ADA compliant.

The Library missions are to provide reading materials of all types, provide educational enrichment for all, particularly children, seniors, and those who may not have their own access to reading or computer/internet services. The Whitehouse Library is a safe and inclusive place for all visitors, and we thank you for your support.
