Help the White Family Through Their Loss
Don protégé
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family and friends of Josh White mourn his untimely passing, gone from this earth far too soon.
Josh White, 38, of Russell, PA., died Tuesday morning, July 1, 2025, at his residence, succumbing to complications from a week-long batter with pneumonia.
Josh was born June 19, 1987, in Warren, PA, to Robin Laih Trapani and Stephen A. White and resided in the Frewsburg and Lakewood, NY area for most of his life. Graduating from Frewsburg High School in 2005, his tenacious drive and passion for trap didn’t go unrecognized, as he was extremely instrumental in establishing the schools first ever Trap Team, living on to this day.
After high school Josh attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, earning his bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management and Law Enforcement. While in college, Josh was 4-time Collegiate National Trap Shoot Champion.
And in 2014, Josh’s life was forever changed when he met Misty through mutual friends. As they both determined they “met their forever person”, Josh and Misty were married on March 17, 2017, in Jamestown, NY.
Josh’s goofy, kid-like nature made him a natural, stepping into the dad role for Peyton (15) & Benny Matson (13), however the coupled decided they weren’t done yet, as they went on to welcome Jack (8) and Katherine White (3) to complete their clan of chaos!
In addition to his wife, kids and parents, Josh is survived by a brother – Nathan White and wife, Gillian of Durham, N.C., Paternal Grandfather – Richard Laih of N. Warren, PA., several, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Josh was the sole provider for his family, his work ethic unmatched to most. For the last 10 years, he was employed by R. Patti Concrete & Excavating of Jamestown, NY as a supervisor. He was a member of the Carroll Rod & Gun Club, notably Captain of their Trap Team. Most recently he earned the Pennsylvania State Single A Class championship title for shooting trap. Josh was a proud member of the 32nd degree mason with the Carroll Lodge 1147 Free & Accepted Mason. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved nearly everything outdoors. He will forever be remembered by so many in countless ways, but above all for being a loving and proud father to his children, they were his world!
Josh was known to drop everything for friends and family, whether it was to help with a project, share a cold beer, tell an off-colored joke, watch his kids’ sporting events, enjoy an evening at the local dirt track, the list goes on and on.
As so many of us try to comprehend the immense loss and void Josh will leave in our hearts, I am asking our amazing community to assist in supporting his wife and children during this painful time. All funds donated will help Misty offset funeral expenses and all other unexpected costs incurred during this heart-rending time.
The White family has brought friendship, laughter and love to so many of our lives. Any and all monetary support or the sharing of this post would be immensely valued.
