Hello, we are the Wellingtons. My husband and I were driving with our 11-month-old on Sunday, October 19th. Shortly after 10 pm, we were struck by a drunk driver who blew through a red light and T-boned us going 25-30 mph over the speed limit. The majority of the impact hit the back passenger door where our 11-month-old slept peacefully in her car seat.
The collision resulted in minor injuries for all three of us, except my husband who has a severe concussion as well as PTSD from prior car accidents others have caused.
Unfortunately, we both are missing work due to this event. My husband is the main provider for our family of 6 and the most injured. He’s already returned to work after only two days off.
Anything donated to this will go towards helping us buy a new (to us) van we found as we attain a lawyer for the insurance claim to help us get the justice we deserve, while also pressing charges on the drunk driver. This is critical because we take my disabled mother and special needs children to Eugene regularly for appointments.
Our 11-month-old has had night terrors every night since the accident and now panics when we approach a car, resulting in a full-body meltdown when we try to strap her in a car seat.
I am having night terrors and suffering from a migraine that’s causing tunnel vision and numbness in my face and hands.
This event truly sent a tsunami through our family and we’re just trying to get another set of cheap wheels that fits our family of 7.
We know things are hard for everyone right now, but anything you donate would be unbelievably appreciated.
