Winona Welch is my cousin, but we’ve always been more like sisters, having grown up across the street from each other. Yesterday morning, tragedy struck when her family’s home on Route 13 in Dryden was destroyed by a devastating fire. The loss is unimaginable: Winona’s husband, Dave, is in critical condition, and their adopted daughter and niece, Chrissy, along with Chrissy’s three-year-old daughter Paisley, and our cousin’s daughter Katie, all lost their lives. The family’s four beloved dogs also perished in the fire.

Winona and her family have lost everything—their home, their belongings, and most heartbreakingly, cherished family members. Dave is currently in critical care, facing a long road to recovery. The family is now in urgent need of support for temporary housing, medical bills for Dave, and funeral expenses for Chrissy, Paisley, and Katie.
