Aloha Family and Friends. On August 15th, our brother Wayne Hiebert went into the hospital for breathing complications. By the 16th he was moved to ICU and is currently being treated for COVID pneumonia. The COVID has left scar tissue in his lungs making it hard for the oxygen machine to push air through both lungs. His treatment now includes nitric oxide and oxygen, and proning therapy.
Wayne is a dedicated husband and committed father to his four children; Kera, Ryli, Daniel, and Thea.
His wife, Maggie is trying her best to keep the house running while he is fighting this battle. Since Wayne is the sole breadwinner for his family, they have now fallen on hard times. Although the doctors have prepared Maggie for the worst, she remains prayerful and is pulling strength from her Heavenly Father through faith. Due to modern technology and the kindness of his nurses, the family is able to zoom with Wayne every night singing family hymns to him and sharing about their day. Though fully sedated, they are comforted in knowing he is able to hear them.
Maggie and her family appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Everyone is holding onto the hope that Wayne will continue to fight for his life and return to his family.
