Help the Watson Family Honor the Life of Audrey Watson

It’s with heavy hearts that the Watson family shared the passing of their beloved Audrey Watson, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer on July 20, 2025.

Audrey was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was warm, strong, and endlessly kind. Anyone who knew her could tell you how much love she gave and how deeply she cared for the people in her life.

I’m putting this fundraiser together as a friend of her granddaughter Reneisha, to help support the Watson family during this incredibly hard time.

Audrey held many roles in her lifetime, including working as a substitute teacher in the Webutuck School District. She made a lasting impression on so many students, staff, neighbors, and friends. No matter where she was or what she was doing, she found a way to show up with kindness and care.

Her home was a safe place for a lot of us growing up. She always had her door open. Whether you needed advice, a meal, a hug, or just a quiet place to breathe, Audrey made sure you knew you were welcome.

To most of us, she wasn’t just Audrey. She was Nanny. Even people who weren’t related to her thought of her that way, because that’s the kind of love she gave. And her husband Ron, known to so many as Poppy, is just as steady and welcoming. Their love and warmth stretches far beyond their family.

Audrey loved crafting, her dogs, and most of all, her family. She made life feel a little softer, a little safer, and a lot more loved.

The Watson family is now facing the pain of losing her, along with the financial stress of planning her funeral and memorial. We’re asking for help so they can give her the beautiful goodbye she deserves.

Service Details:

Nanny’s service will be held at Faith Bible Chapel on Saturday July 26th at 10:30 am in Millerton followed by a reception at the Legion in Millerton.
