Help the Wasion family make it to spring

On February 8th, our lease was suddenly and unexpectedly terminated, through no fault of our own, so that our landlady's son could move into our apartment. We were given one month and one week to vacate the premises. This is the only home our 3 year old daughter Eloise has ever known (she just graduated to her own bedroom), and my wife Briana also has two guinea pigs and several birds that are like family, too. Moving is never easy, especially with such short notice and for such befuddled reason, but these things do happen. However, they couldn't be happening at a worse time.

Just before receiving the news, our car essentially froze to death in the insane weather we've been having. Missing work isn't an option, so we scraped together what little extra we had for repairs. This was a setback, but again...these things happen.

However, while we scrambled about like headless chickens to find a new place to live, against an ever-ticking clock, our beloved dog Annie, whom my wife had raised for 12 years from the moment of birth, grew increasingly ill. When the severity of the situation revealed itself, we made a rush vet appointment, and hoped beyond hope for the best. Tragically, there was nothing they could do; our precious Annie was put to sleep on the 16th. While money is hardly the most painful part of the situation, it has to be said that just having her looked at, and ultimately put down, was hundreds of dollars that we simply did not have in light of our predicament. It was obviously the right thing to do, but financially speaking, it was like being kicked when we were already very down.

As it stands, we still haven't landed a new place to stay. Its difficult with the small pets we still have, and our credit score is slowly rebuilding itself after an unexpected surgery led us into bankruptcy a few years back. To top everything off, it's looking more and more likely that our tax returns won't land until sometime in March, when we have to move out. With our car repairs (which might not even have done the trick, as it's still a little shaky), and the situation with our poor dog, this whole nightmare is becoming untenable. We're not giving up hope. But we'd be lying if I said we didn't need help.

And believe me, every little bit DOES help. Food for our daughter, found hay for the critters, another round of car repairs, even another month's rent if we can work something out and stay just a little longer, all of these things become possible with very little money overall. I have faith that we can find a new place and start over. There is light at the end of the tunnel...we just have to make it that far.
