The Ware Ohana with Lahaina Fire Relief

Donation protected
Aloha,

We are asking for your donations to support our childhood friend, Jasmine Ware, her husband Nick Ware and their beautiful boys, Brady (6yo), Fin (4yo) and we can’t forget Snoop (12yo). On August 8, 2023, Maui experienced 90+ mph winds due to Hurricane Dora passing south of the State. The extreme drought conditions on Maui and the winds caused downed power lines and fueled brush fires that took out the historic town of Lāhainā and displaced the Ware family from their home in Kahoma Village. They are still unsure of the status of their home and property.

The entire historical and culturally significant town of Lāhainā will need to re-build. The fires took out important Hawaiian cultural sites, churches, the harbor, boats, community buildings, schools, homes, business, and cars and were burned to the ground. As of 8/9/23 11:00pm, there are 36 reported fatalities and possibly more to be uncovered as the search and recovery start to begin. We are so thankful that they are together safely sheltering with friends in Nāpili until they can go back and check on their home and figure out their next steps.

Jaz and Nick met at Dukeʻs Waikīkī where they both worked, fell in love and got married in 2013 and this September marks their 10 year anniversary. They moved to Lāhainā in 2018 when Nick transferred from Dukeʻs Waikīkī to Dukeʻs Lāhainā and eventually became the General Manager. Jaz has been home raising their 2 boys over the last few years until they just started school. On our phone calls, she would tell us how she loved living a few blocks away from Lāhainā Front Street and she would frequently take the boys to the beach and walk to and play at the parks. They loved living, working and raising their family in Lāhainā.

We humbly ask for whatever support you are able to contribute from your monetary donations and prayers to help them through the rebuilding process.

**The funds will be transferred directly to Jasmine & Nick Ware via the GoFundMe beneficiary method. Jasmine has been added as the beneficiary of this account so that Jasmine and Nick can determine how the funds will be utilized.

Any kōkua (assistance) is greatly appreciated.

Mahalo nui loa,
Melanie & Kēhau
