Help the Voris Family lay their mother to rest

Hi, my name is Shari. My siblings and I unexpectedly lost our mother, Carol Voris, who was born Deaf and battled mental illness most of her life on May 23, 2022. She had a heart attack and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67.

Over the past decade, our relationship with our mother became severely strained as she battled mental illness and pushed us away.

We are now in a situation where the man that supposedly loved our mother (not our father), is not taking any responsibility for burial expenses and we now need to go out to Colorado Springs to gather our her precious belongings, along with our older brother, Garlan Voris’ ashes. We also find ourselves in the position to financially provide for our mother’s funeral and legal expenses.

The issue we are facing is that she must be transported from Colorado Springs, Colorado to Scottsbluff, Nebraska to be buried by her parents, which is going to cost money that we just do not have. To be honest, none of us were ready for the financial burden we now face to prepare her for her final resting place. Although we understand that cremation is a cheaper option, in keeping with her wishes and her religious beliefs, we are asking for help to ensure she can finally rest in peace.

We cannot begin to describe how humbling it is to be reaching out for help during this very difficult time. Please, even if you are able to give a little bit, every dollar helps, and we will be forever grateful.

Gas for three vehicles traveling to Nebraska from Utah (roundtrip): $1,500.00

Expenses for picking up our mother’s belongings:

Gas for 1 truck pulling trailer (round trip) and bringing back mom's car (if found): $1,500.00

Motel for 2 couples doing the moving of belongings: $400.00

Possible unexpected expenses/debt owed by mom: $5,000.00

Excess Funds: Will be donated to the Sego Lily Center for Abused Deaf in Salt Lake City, Utah.
