Help the Vore Family with RJ's Medical Bills

Donation protected
A fundraiser For Those who Would Like to Help with The Vore Family Medical bills.
This is a fundraising effort to help pay for the medical bills of RJ Vore born June 17th, 2024.
Though RJ was born full term, and the parents were told he would be a perfectly healthy baby, he was born with a life-threatening condition called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH).
As of today, July 7th, RJ has been in the PICU for 3 weeks and is making progress. He will be there at least 2 more weeks and possibly more – though we surely hope not.
Many friends and family have showered Carol & Jordan with generosity, prayers, and gifts. God has mercifully answered our prayers and RJ has survived and is improving.
People ask every day what they can do to help. Due to the generosity Carol & Jordan experienced prior to RJ’s birth, the nursery is completely ready for RJ’s home coming. However, one significant way friends and family can help would be to contribute to the medical expenses for RJ in the amount they would use to buy a gift or service. Though the Vores do have health insurance, the bills at this level of care and continuing care will be large. Another expense comes from the fact that Jordan’s leave time is covered but, Carol’s is only partially covered.
Details of RJ’s struggles:
Baby RJ Vore was born with CDH, Congenital Diagrammatic Hernia. This condition, usually detected in the womb, was not found until birth. When he was born, the nurses immediately noticed he was blue and struggling to breathe. A quick assessment and a few tests later he was diagnosed and transported to the top PICU in Fairfax, Virginia. He was placed on several layers of life support including the ECMO machine (a heart and lung bypass machine) and at just four days old, underwent a 7-hour surgery to repair the hernia. The hernia had caused RJ’s bowels to move up into the lung cavity and stunted the growth of his left lung and forced his heart to the right side of his chest.
It has been an intense 3 weeks as the doctors and nurses have worked hard to establish stability. He is still on a ventilator and in the PICU. The surgery has put everything back in place and he has made big progress and is now off of the ECMO machine. The biggest challenge he still has is for his left lung to continue to develop to the point that he can get off the last piece of life support which is the ventilator. At that point he will need to wean from sedation meds, learn to eat and prove that he can gain weight – and then come home!
Thank you for considering supporting the Vore family at this time,
From the friends and family of Jordan, Carol and RJ Vore.
