Help The Voigts Rebuild and Start New

Hi Family,

 

I'm reaching out because I am in desperate need of your help. As many of you may already know, Erick and I are in the middle of an ugly divorce. For the past six years of our 9-year marriage, I have been a stay-at-home mom and earned little income. For the past year and a half, I have been focused on getting Ziev through his treatments while also tending to Zoe and Zavier's physical, mental and emotional well-being.

 

Unfortunately, I cannot say I was one of those witty wives who cunningly saved money on the side in the event of a "rainy day". Because of this grave error, I find myself in need of desperate financial help. Not only do I need to find the funds to pay my lawyer, but my car is stuck at the dealership right now and will likely be considered a total loss. Luckily, a friend is lending me her old truck for the time being, but as of right now, I am without my own transportation.

 

These are my most immediate financial needs:

 

$3,500- retainer for lawyer due by TOMORROW 3/4/2022 (I have paid $700, but still owe $2,800)

$6,500- potential additional fees due to lawyer- my lawyer explained given the allegations that Erick is putting forth, this could turn into an ugly, long custody battle. He recommends that I be prepared to spend up to $10,000 on this divorce.

$500- the deductible for my car insurance is $500, but as I previously mentioned, my car will likely be a total loss. It isn't worth very much. It is currently sitting at the dealership. They cannot get the doors open, so I need to get it towed to a body shop first and then back to Hyundai to see if the electrical issues can be fixed. My guess is it won't make it out of the body shop, but I haven't been able to even get it there.

 

Those of you who know me know that I have dedicated my life to my children. They are my everything. The pain and hurt that they are going through right now may honestly top the struggles we endured with Ziev's cancer diagnosis. We are facing dark times right now, but I am trying my best to stay positive for them and push through each day, one at a time.
