Goal: $50,000 (to cover home restoration, temporary housing, ADA-compliant rental, an accessible van for Christina, and holiday gifts for the family)

Their Story
Midyear of 2025, Myles and Christina Villoria and their two sons, Mykel and Andrew, faced an unexpected challenge when a broken upstairs toilet caused severe water damage to their home. The leak impacted the bathroom flooring, the living room ceiling, and the basement leading to months of repairs. While the insurance company began work on the bathroom, the process was still ongoing as Thanksgiving approached.

During the Thanksgiving holiday, Christina—who bravely battles major cognitive degeneration attributed to dementia—suffered a fall and required staples for a head injury. The next day, tragedy struck again: a fire broke out in the attic above Mykel’s bedroom, spreading quickly and causing extensive damage throughout the home. Thankfully, the entire family, including their beloved pets Choo Choo (cat), Rosco (dog), and Dragonite (bearded dragon) escaped unharmed. Ironically, the fire started 2 days before the bathroom remodel was scheduled to begin.

Unfortunately, the fire and subsequent efforts to extinguish it caused catastrophic damage to all floors of the house. The Villoria family lost much of their home and belongings. They are currently living in a hotel while working with their insurance company to secure an ADA-compliant rental property for Christina’s needs.

Why We Need Your Help
This series of events has placed an enormous emotional and financial strain on the family. Repairs will take months, and the costs of temporary housing, replacing essentials, and ensuring accessibility for Christina are overwhelming. In addition to rebuilding their home, the family urgently needs:
- An ADA-compliant van to accommodate Christina’s wheelchair and make transportation easier for medical appointments and family activities.
- Holiday gifts for Mykel and Andrew to bring joy and normalcy during this difficult season.
- Essential items lost in the fire and accessibility accommodations for Christina.

A Message from the Villoria Family
We are so thankful that everyone made it out safely, including our pets. This year has brought challenges we never imagined—from water damage to a devastating fire and Christina’s ongoing health struggles. We are doing everything we can to stay strong for our boys but the road ahead is long and overwhelming. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. Every donation, every share, and every prayer helps us move one step closer to rebuilding our home, securing an accessible van for Christina, and restoring a sense of balance for our family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us during this difficult time.

To keep you updated on our journey, I created a CaringBridge. CaringBridge is a health platform that offers tools to share and document Christina’s health journey and the restoration updates to our family home.
