Dear Friends,
It has been over a year and a half since the floodwaters swept through and destroyed our beloved Village Potters Clay Center in the River Arts District of Asheville NC.
The road back has been long, with so many unexpected obstacles, but it has also been filled with hope, resilience, friendship and tremendous generosity.
Thanks to you, we now have our new center at Westgate. The walls are up, the kilns are installed with hoods and vent systems, and we even are having a soft opening with the resumption of our educational programs, workshops, working studios and our clay supply company now on site.
Every gift you have given directly supported us in our recovery. Current donations have helped turn on the lights, water, and gas; and support our start up staff. We have a few loose ends and a lot of bills but we are officially back. It has been made possible by you!
You believed in us, in our mission, in resilience, in the power of art to heal and connect, and in the beauty of a creative community.
Together, we will celebrate on April 11 from 2-7 pm and begin living the next chapter of The Village Potters Clay Center.
With deepest gratitude,
Sarah Wells Rolland and all The TVP Community

Our New Home
We have two new classrooms:
The Greene Studio/Classroom is dedicated to our former landlady and true friend, Helaine Greene, who not only fully supported us when we resided in her building at Riverview Station but she has supported us in our recovery in our new location too. We will cherish our many years working together and will continue to be connected with her for years to come. She lost her beloved building in the flood and our heart is turned toward her in her profound loss too.
The Moore Studio/Classroom is dedicated to Julie Moore, the late wife of Ken Moore. Julie dedicated her life to making pottery and teaching beginners. She loved helping others experience clay for the first time. Ken has become a dear friend to Sarah and George, and is also a friend and benefactor of our new foundation.
