Help the VHS Robodogs compete this season!

Hello! We are the Robodogs, Vacaville High School's robotics team!

This year we have a goal to go to the 2020 World Championships in Houston, TX. We have a strong team full of new recruits and are very optimistic about our ability to do this. We set a fundraising goal of $15,000 through donors like you (which is actually a small amount in this competition as some teams raise well over $250,000).

Since our founding in 2006, we’ve been winning a variety of awards for our achievements. We were particularly successful last year, reaching the Regional Quarterfinals in both our competitions. With our hard work, we earned the prestigious Judges Award for “Excellence in Engineering” and attribute this to our team’s passion and dedication for innovation through efficiency. We have developed a strong team culture with committed new recruits. Thus, in order to reach the 2020 World Championships... we need your help!

Entering the Robodogs 15th season, we have assembled a group of devoted & driven students, a small group of dedicated mentors and a team of passionate parent volunteers. Last year, all of our students averaged over 115-hours working on our robot in a 6-week period, totaling over 1,840 hours between the 16 of us!

Unfortunately, a passion for the sciences isn't enough. Our program requires funding to be successful. With the combined cost of regional entry fees, travel costs, and the materials and tools for robot construction, our program is an expensive one. Our regional entry fees are $14,000 alone. It costs roughly $16,000 to build a robot and maintain/supply our shop (parts are expensive), and up to $20,000 for travel.

With your help, we hope to reach our total fundraising goal of $50K by applying for grants, hosting fund-raising events and seeking personal donations through GoFundMe (hence the $15K goal).
