On the afternoon of 2/5/2021, Donna and George Vasic’s family home was consumed by a devastating fire due to an electric wire. George and his son were home, and George attempted to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and water, but it kept spreading. He then called 911, woke-up his son, Nick, and thankfully, got them both out safely. Unfortunately, they lost all of their furniture, all of Donna and George’s clothes, and many of their personal belongings and cherished memories. They have had to relocate to live in a hotel until their home can be repaired due to being extensively damaged from the fire, smoke and water.
Sadly, their homeowner’s insurance is not able to cover all of the expenses, so they will need a lot of out-of-pocket money to be able to rebuild and buy all that they will need to be able to return to live there again.
We are raising funds to help Donna and George, and their two son’s, Alex and Nick, get started at rebuilding and offset some of the heavy expenses they are going to incur. As many of you know the Vasic family is a family that would do anything for anyone. Donna is and has always been a "giver", and she is not one to ask for help, so I was so glad that when I reached-out to her, that they agreed to let others help. They are so appreciative, and also so deserving and in need of this fundraiser, so please consider donating and also helping us share it with your circle of family and friends.
Victims of fires face tremendous emotional stress and financial costs and we hope to alleviate some of the stress that they will face as they begin to rebuild.
Please note: This GoFundMe is set-up by Donna’s friend, Lisa Schramm Mullahy, who has known her since growing-up with her in Port Washington, NY. All funds will be directly deposited to Donna and George Vasic, who are the beneficiaries of this fundraiser.
Thank you for any donations. I know they will appreciate it from the bottom of their hearts. Together, we can be the net that catches them during this time when the ground has disappeared from underneath their feet.
