Help The VanTils March 2022
Donation protected
Many of you know my friend, Bobbie Van Til. In 2013 Bobbie had a heart attack and in 2016 was treated for her initial breast cancer. In 2019 Bobbie suffered a recurrence of her breast cancer. It reappeared in several bones of her body. This has been, and continues to be, a serious blow to the entire Van Til family. In 2019 the estimated out-of-pocket expenses for the initial cancer were $20,000. Bobbie being out of work for these health issues has also prevented her from qualifying for social security disability. The 2019 fundraiser was a huge help and has sustained them through the past 2 years.
Based on the past two years, it seems likely that this will be a very long fight. The treatments have kept the cancer from spreading which is their goal. They are in a cycle of chemo for 3 weeks, which is a steady decline for Bobbie's blood counts. By week 3 she is extremely fatigued and nauseated and can't do much other than sleep. She then has 1-2 weeks off to let her body rebound just enough to restart the chemo again.
The constant appointments, prescriptions, co-pays, and related expenses continue to add up. Bobbie's current treatment will continue as long as it is effective at preventing the cancer from spreading.
Your help will provide funding for appointments and medication co-pays, deductible expenses, traveling expenses (her treatment is in Pittsburgh), and everyday bills as the Van Tils have experienced loss of income.
It is no surprise that many cancer patients have to declare bankruptcy and lose their homes. Please consider helping the Van Tils avoid this as they cope with the physical and emotional aspects of this horrid disease. Thank you for considering helping financially, and please join us in praying for complete healing for Bobbie!
