Help the USS Hornet Museum stay afloat!

Now hear this! General Quarters! General Quarters! – To your battle stations to combat COVID!

The USS Hornet has survived South Pacific sea battles, a typhoon, and narrowly escaped the scrap yard. Now, in the waves of the COVID-19 crisis, she remains afloat thanks to her die-hard crew and supporters like you. Closed for five months and open with limited accessibility due to COVID restrictions, the Museum has lost a significant amount of income, but we haven’t quit working to carry out our mission to preserve, educate, and inspire.

We have been busy behind the scenes with restoration projects, such as painting the Hangar Deck, and bringing the ship and other artifacts to you virtually. Our Education Department has been adapting our recognized STEM-to Stern and history programs to the on-line classroom and bringing this learning opportunity to Bay Area students and beyond, including offering scholarships for local Title I schools. Collections and Exhibitions is digitizing the collection, creating virtual tours, and working on projects to increase accessibility for when we fully reopen.

Just like in battling challenges at sea, Hornet needs the combined effort of her many supporters like you to combat COVID-19 and return stronger. Donate now to help us weather the storm! We are trying very hard to avoid a winter shut down.
