Please Support The Turnbull’s on Their Unexpected Battle with Terminal Brain Cancer.

Hello, thank you for your interest in helping as it is greatly appreciated at this time. For those who know me, you know that the Turnbull’s have been my second family for the majority of my life. Emily and Hannah have been my chosen sisters since grade 7 (14 years ago) while Noreen and Drew have been my additional parents, caring for me and treating me like their own since the day I met them. The Turnbull’s have all been there, supporting me during the smallest and the biggest milestones of my childhood and adult life. From middle school talent shows and high school graduation to making the move to California, amongst all my crazy ideas or challenges that have come my way, the Turnbull’s have ALWAYS been there, supporting me and providing me with so much love and encouragement. In return I would like to do the same by generating funds to help them during this time of need. To learn more please continue reading:

Two weeks ago I was staying with Hannah in London, UK where she currently resides. Two days after my visit, I got a message from Emily that Noreen (AKA my momma #2) was admitted into a Toronto hospital after three other hospital attempts... they had found a tumour in Noreen’s brain that needed immediate surgery. The next day (January 25th) Noreen had a successful surgery which removed most of the tumour. With minor complications and a second emergency surgery to remove the fluid in her brain, the recovery process seemed positive. However, a couple of days later, after multiple tests and scans, the Turnbull’s got that shrilling news that we all hope to never hear. The doctors informed them that the type of brain cancer Noreen has is very aggressive, called Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is rare but the tumours grow rapidly without any cure. The average survival rate is 10–12 months, but unfortunately, as the tumour has already started to grow back, the doctors have given Noreen 6-8 months. This terrible insight is only the start of a long, terrifying battle that is inevitably going to result in long hospital stays, expensive parking, lost work wages for the whole family (and myself) , Hannah moving back to Toronto, immense medical costs, etc.

I myself will be returning home this month to Toronto from LA to be with my family (the Turnbull’s) during this hard time. I would love to provide them with something positive to uplift them during this terrible time. With your help, regardless of how big or small, we can bring something positive to this amazing family and give them the support they deserve.
